Hola. (That's hi in Spanish) That's me on the left. As you can tell from the picture, I'm a very skinny person, as well as being a 2-dimensional being. Unless you're from my school, you only know me as words on your computer screen. Remember that the next time you get frustrated with your computer

1st post and CoD4 review

Hello. This is officially my first post and I will be looking forward to posting more about whatever happens to be on my mind at the moment. So try to enjoy my blog as I make (hopefully) entertaining or interesting posts.

I'll start with a review on a game the most of you already know I play, CoD, a.k.a. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Edit:

For some reason, this some paragraphs in this review are in a different font or color from the rest of it. I don't know why this happens, nor how to fix it. This could lead to suspicion that I copied and pasted this on my blog. I just want to assure everyone that I did not copy any of this and I made this up in my free time from scratch. However, to avoid anything, I cited a source that I did get some ideas from: Gerstmann, Jeff. "Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Review." Rev. of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, prod. Infinity Ward. Gamespot. 24 Sept. 2008 .

This game is the best game on the console so far. Its gameplay, variety of options, and sense of epicness make CoD4 a very addicting game.

Single-Player Mode

CoD's 1-player mode, while may be short, is fun and epic while it lasts. The game offers four different difficulty modes: Recruit, Medium, Hard, and Veteren. With death in about 20 shots, Recruit makes the game too easy, so I recommend playing a harder option. Veteren, on the other hand, makes this game very challenging, with only about 1-3 hits to die. The campaign mode plays like a movie and starts you off as Sergeant "Soap"

MacTavish alongside Captain Price and "Gaz", all members of the S.A.S., about to infiltrate a cargo ship in the Bering Sea. After eliminating every crew member of the ship, they confirm nuclear material on board and the ship is attacked by enemy MiGs. They escape the sinking ship in time and the title of the game scrolls on the screen. Before every mission, they give you a little briefing on what’s going on from a world map. Voices play, 3d images on a computer show, and the camera zooms in on the area that you were shown on the map into a first-person perspective of whomever you will be playing as in the level.

The campaign mode is incredibly short, which can be beaten in about 2-3 hours on Recruit difficulty. However, based on the intensity of the Veteran difficulty, it can be raised to about 6-8 hours. Thequality of the campaign more than makes up for the length of it, with great voice acting and many epic moments and unexpected events scattered throughout the campaign. Although the lifespan of the campaign is short (Along with just about everyone else you’ll be fighting), there are some reasons to replay it. There are achievements that you can only acquire by playing through the campaign mode, as well as thirty enemy intelligence laptops that you can collect (To activate cheats and an achievement.) Also, the game offers an Arcade mode, where you can play through any level or even the whole campaign and see how many points you can get through the level and compare them with the world.

Multiplayer

The short-lived campaign can only get someone to play for so long, so the game offers multiplayer options. Offline can go up to 4 players on one console while online lets up to 16 players play in one game. Offline only offers a handful of weapon sets to use while online lets you create your classes and use whatever weapon combinations you want. The downside is that only one player per console is allowed online.

There are plenty of multiplayer modes to choose from, ranging

from a Hardcore mode to a Classic mode. There are also plenty of maps to play on, ensuring much variety online and offline. Although there are four different teams you can play as, there are only two of them offered on each map. These teams are the U.S. Marines, the British S.A.S., the Russian Spetsnaz, and the Opposing Forces. Although many things can go on at once, there is almost zero lag, although when there is a connection problem, the game play stops altogether and you can safely assume you will be kicked from the game.

One feature unique to CoD4 is a “Killcam.” Whenever you die, if shows you about 7 seconds from the enemy’s point of view up until your death. You can skip this by pressing the X button. This is a very cool idea and it’s fun to watch the rocket propelled grenade soar through the air, but not when it hits you.

Also unique to CoD4 are rewards for kill streaks. The developer’s original idea was to have a computer set up in a certain spot where players would activate it by going up to it. However, they scrapped that idea and made it so you’re rewarded for killing a certain number of people without dying. When you kill three people without dying, you get to call in a UAV, or an Unarmed Aerial Vehicle, to show every opponent on the map and where they are for thirty seconds. Two kills later and you get an Air strike. When you use it, a map of the map pops up on your screen and you can fire wherever you want. About 5 seconds later, jets fly across the map bombing the area you chose. Yet another two kills later, you get to bring out a helicopter. When you use it, you wait about 3-7 seconds for a chopper to come and move around the map, shooting at every enemy it sees for thirty seconds.

Another fun feature is the Perk feature. You unlock different perks by leveling up in multiplayer mode and you can assign different ones to different classes you made. They go from two RPG grenades to a UAV jammer to a perk that allows you to shoot through walls. You can only assign any 3 at a time per class, though. There are around 20 in all, so everyone will find one they like, whether it fits the theme of their class, complements the gun, complements your strategy, or just fun to use.

Visual & Audio

This game looks great from the second you turn it on. From Campaign mode to online multiplayer, it all looks amazing. The voice acting is also perfect. There isn’t much music, but there are some tracks that play during the campaign, when idle in multiplayer, between missions, and when you win or lose. There are different tracks that play depending on which team you’re on, as well as a different person talking to you during a game telling you where to go, what to do, etc.

The shots of your guns are realistically loud and each gun has its own bullet sound, which adds to the realism. You can hear not just the gun shoot, but also the bullet going though the air. You can especially hear this when a sniper bullet whiz right past your head.

Overall, I give Call of Duty 4 for the Xbox 360 a 45.5 out of 50, which is about 91%

Gameplay: 10/10

Campaign: 7/10 (Quality gets a 10, but quantity makes it lower)

Multiplayer: 8.5/10 (Online gets a 10, but offline holds it back)

Visual: 10/10

Audio: 10/10

Alright, this ends my first attempt at a blog post। I hoped you liked it.
