Last night I had attended an event that I had been looking forward to since around May of this year. It was an America concert. It had a lot of firsts for me. It was my first concert, first time consciously being in Anglewood, and it was the first time I thought I would lose my hearing.
Being my first concert, I didn’t know what to expect from it. When we got to Anglewood we had dinner at Wendy’s and continued to where they would perform. We got to our seats and sat for about 20 minutes before Kate Taylor, who was opening for them, started to play. She was pretty good, but her voice was almost piercingly loud.
After 45 minutes she got off and we had a short break and America started setting up. A few minutes later, we sat back down and they started playing. Loud. Very, very loud. Don’t get me wrong, the songs were good, but it was just too loud. Is there some common misconception that we always have to be loud? People can enjoy things when it’s not 250 decibels going through their ears.
I feel a little wierd typing this because it seems like I'm the odd one out when it comes to most things. My view on the concert, for example.
Maybe I'm just not the concert type.
