Macbeth Act II was an interesting Act. I can’t really relate myself to anyone or anything in this Act; I’m not a King, killer, woman, guard, or a King’s son.
In this Act I noticed SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN’T READ IT YET that they did not show the King’s death. Macbeth just came back and said that he killed him. I was curious about it until I was told that one of Shakespeare’s audience members was the King himself. He did not want to show a King’s death in front of the King. More so, he did not want to show a bad King’s death in front of the King. Those would be bad. So he made the King a good King that everyone loved and he didn’t show his death. I would much rather them have a scene depicting the event like they had done in The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, however. END OF SPOILERS I found that kind of interesting.
I’m not going to lie. I’m enjoying this book so far. I liked most of the Shakespearean plays that I have read in my life, but I think I might enjoy Macbeth the most out of all of them (Romeo & Juliet, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, and Macbeth), but that’s not saying much.
